It’s a good rose, reliable and hardy. Give it a deed, and then tomato feed in June for extra flowering..... mines poorly planted too close to other roses but does ok.
@Umairahmed3 that's lovely!!! and what I'm hoping to see in a few months!
One question: does your compassion get 'bare knees'? I bought a small patio clematis (ashva) to plant with it in case it got that way but didn't want to overcrowd it in the pot so havnt done it yet.
Sorry donno what you mean by bare knees? I guess you are asking if it has bare patches at the bottom.
in that case, not really. I ran it at 45 degree angles and now in spring new shoots are sprouting from everywhere where. When not in season it does look a bit bare overall (but so do all dedicious plants). Mine is growing in soil, south facing, so gets lot of sun. Dont worry about overfeeding, in my experience it’ll actually do better with more TLC.
That's what I meant @Umairahmed3 thanks for the advice it's good to know. It seems to have shoots down low I was just worried becuase it's only got a narrow space to grow x
I received three new roses today from C & K Jones - Midnight Blue, Ebb Tide and Minerva. They are all intended for the front garden, where I have an absolutely beautiful Hydrangea - it starts dark blue with a purple tint and fades off through purple to more reddish purple. I am looking forward to how it will look with these roses. And that's it for this season, no more space for roses. Although I guess I will find some space next year
@edhelka I recieved 7 bare root roses today which also included Minerva and I’m really looking forward to that specific rose which is a beautiful colour.
i can’t wait till the bare root roses of which I have bought 20 recently start to grow and flower as it will be an amazing show!!

will it ever become a good shrub?
i had it planted in garden last summer but it got crowded out by dahlias I think which were too close at the time so I dug it back up to revive it.
