Thanks, I’ve already taken those three cuttings and they seem to be doing well so far, fingers crossed. I keep them in a plastic bag, opening it from time to time. Should I do this until I see roots at the bottom of the pot?
And you’re right, I could probably take some more cuttings now.
We're expecting a frost in London over the next few nights, but only down to about 4 - 6c. Will my Red Velour be safe? They've already been outside for a month.
My Red Velour survived through the Beast from the East winter outside in a hay basket. They should just scoff at 4° C. Tell them to man up. I already have outside two tubs planted with Red Velour and I am giving them no extra protection in the next few nights; I fear fleece would just get blown away in the strong breeze. I suppose I could weight the fleece down but the pots are in quite sheltered positions so I am leaving them to their own devices.
Most of my Red Velour were overwintered in a cold frame, slightly propped open at all times to let a modicum of fresh air get in.
@fire yes mine were in a cold greenhouse. I give some to my mum 2 year ago, they live outside in some troughs south facing and they are still hanging on but really could do with replacing this year
