I'm going to try and overwinter mine, outside this time, and stay on the ball. Mine are still doing ok and handling rain so much better than other petunias I have tried. I suspect they need intense sun to do really well, mine get afternoon sun only. I'm pleased they are still going, though with less and less budding.
I enjoy finding bees alseep in flowers. This was out stone cold and snoring.
Has anyone tried the Silver Tidal Wave petunias...? Do they perform as well?
Interested in this too - I've been reading through this thread and admiring the red velour but it would clash something rotten with the paint on the house! I had no idea you could overwinter petunias for cuttings in spring so will definitely be trying that.
@CharlotteF I was happily surprised at the colour... Mine is a more bluey-red than orangey-red, if that helps. The photos really don't do it justice, it is a beautiful colour.
@BenCotto yes, they do look good. Was thinking of buying some seeds just to have a go... haven't seen the other colours on sale, so will have a look at those, too...

Yes I know what you mean, it's a gorgeous rich colour. One day we will repaint the house! It's a sort of minty green. I want it more sage-y and then I can have any plant colours I want 😉 For now I think i'll give the silver a go as it'll work in the front hanging basket and also match the scheme on the back patio.
I've grow Petunia Silver Tidal Wave before , I forgot to reply jogged my memory today with buying more wave petunia seeds . Petunia Silver tidal wave is as vigorous as red velour . I've growing a different one called Easy wave silver which looks the same ( they could be the same plant with different name ) these ones don't same quite as vigorous as red velour or the Silver tidal wave I got from Dobbies a few years ago.
The colours vary some what, some are more white or lilac than others . This is 1 plant in a 3 ft long trough. First year I've grown wave petunias 2019 very surprised with how vigorous they are .
@msqingxiao I hope you may be able to overwinter yours.
@Fire I'll definitely try. It's doing OK so far. I'm planning to move it indoors soon and maybe take a cutting or two as well
Mine is looking a bit sad now at this time of year indoors, not sure if there's anything I can do to help it. The small cuttings I took were also struggling as somehow tiny slugs came out of nowhere and nibbled some holes in them! But at least they've survived though haven't shown much growth...
