Different strokes for different folks I guess. Much of Beechgrove bores me. I don’t want GW to do more 'how-to' features as there are so many sources for that advice available. I think the wider diversity of presenters is great. Given the amount of hours they fill there is no way 3 presenters would be able to do that amount of filming, particularly as many also have other jobs.  One of GW’s strengths for me is the wide variety of horticultural topics they cover...even the lichen 😉

I’m surprised there are no decent YouTube channels on gardening given how varied people’s tastes are it would seem obvious to do one.
I've found a channel called 'John Lord's Garden' on YouTube which has interested me. Lots of lovely practical 5 min clips from a chap of the same name .  He films from his garden centre and open garden in Ireland. I love his presenting style and his little jokes here and there.Kept me going over winter.
  • i quite like the landscaper gardener guy, that stuff is quite interesting and I can never watch enough different approaches to doing things.

The dogs are quite cute too.

I usually watch Gardeners' World when it is repeated early Sunday morning but disappointed to see no repeat. Will have to record tonight's. Only on for half an hour but after googling it is only till Easter and then back to one hour.
  • Yes I noticed that it was only half an hour tonight too Fran.  This is one of the busiest times of the year for gardeners so it would be nice to have had a full hour to include all the work involved in getting the garden ready for the summer (you know - the time when we are supposed to sit back with drink in hand enjoying the colour, the bird song and the fruits of our labours - I wish!). I need to know what to prune now, what to sow, what to buy to fill the gaps etc. now.

Monty's garden will be way behind yours GD as it is colder and wetter.  I strongly advise you to join the RHS whose monthly magazine has a jobs to d feature and check their website too for general jobs - https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/in-month/march/jobs and also specific plants and their care.

I still feel that the first GW of the year, is somehow an important date.
How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team

Yes I agree @Obelixx that @Guernsey Donkey2 garden will be ahead as it's always three weeks ahead of mine. Usually Monty's a week out with what I've just done and I'm amazed @islander ever gets a growing season on an Irish island!😃

Well I’m probably a month ahead of Monty, so often think ‘oh b*gger, I should have done that by now! Usually with regard to pruning.
