    Re: the rose for a pot size, that's helpful (not) !  ;)  l was searching on the David Austin site for roses, they have a pot symbol against suitable varieties. Marlorena very kindly gave me some helpful advice.

    Monty said 'make sure you chose the right rose for a pot' but gave no idea of what he would use as criteria for selection?

    I got a reply from Monty on twitter, the answer is apparently 'small!'
    Well, I'm sure we're all 100% with such a comprehensive explanation .

    You can grow climbing roses in pots too, it depends how much maintenance you can cope with.
    If you like David Austin roses, here is a link to their rose gallery of potted roses, most are named..

    Don't know about eating the fruits of fuchsias, but as kids we used to suck the flowers for honey, if you haven't done it you haven't lived!

    Just snap the flower from the seed pod and suck!
