@islander ... are they special needles that you want or just specific sizes? I have inherited my granny’s and my mother’s needles as well as having built up a stock of my own ... I seem to have hundreds ... if I’ve got what you need let me know and I’ll pop them in the post to you ... they’re in need of a good home 🏡

Morning all/afties, evening Pat. I couldn't cope with your extreme fluctuations of temps. Makes gardening, and lots of other things, so difficult to achieve. Good luck steephill. Couldn't deal with that traffic either! Horrible sort of day here, cold, wet and generally manky. Supposed to clear up later on. Betty was out tweeting away waiting for her breakfast though. She's eating a lot of apples too. Maybe she's a veggie blackbird... More tea needed with a look round here.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Glad to hear your shopping's going to arrive, Islander. No doubt it wasn't crucial but the forecast for the next little while is pretty stormy, so good to get a restock while you can.
I never learned to knit. I feel like I should. I learned all sorts of handicrafts, to a greater or lesser extent, including rather 'niche' things like basket weaving and lacemaking, but not knitting. Bit of an odd omission. I've just dusted off my sewing machine. Not used it in 10 years. Need to remind myself how all the bits work. I have a lot of curtains to hem....
Squally here - gusty winds, hail showers, bright sunshine in between. All very March.

I can knit but not well. Get bored doing plain knit and purl but get distracted by cats, dogs and TV when trying something more interesting. Not too clever with embroidery either so keep that simple. Can't see well enough to do fine cross stitch stuff any more. I like willow weaving and have made an obelisk - of course - and a basket and a "nest". I can drive a sewing machine quite well. Learning to do mosaic.
Utterly hopeless at drawing and painting unless it's walls and woodwork.
It has turned dull and blowy and wet here but the light levels are OK for painting walls. Dancing later.
I hope your groceries arrive Islander and that your plants haven't caught a sudden cold Pat. Stay warm and dry everyone.

Gorgeous. I make dolls, gloves, dog coats, etc which I sell in our local are gallery. All hand knitted. Sometimes use my homespun mohair from our goats. 😃
That is a beautiful christening gown. A lot of the old skills are being lost. Are there some youngsters nearby who would be interested in learning old technology. ?
You should live where you are most comfortable. My Great Aunt Sylvia moved from the family house to a sheltered complex at 95. She had left the front door unlocked and some thieving gits came in during the night and cleared out the TV etc. She is very independent and thrives there now, being their oldest resident at 103. She was on the TV last year.
Gorgeous Christening gown, @islander - you have a great talent! If @Dovefromabove doesn't have the knitting needles you need, please say, because I too have inherited a lot of duplicates from my grandmother and mother-in-law.
A wet time in the Park this morning. Just long enough to take a photo in the area we planted with native tree whips, because the body which funded the plants (it's a local wind farm trying to improve its image, having dug up rather a lot of peat bog when erecting the turbines) need photographic evidence that their money has been well spent. We certainly looked keen, in the pouring rain and covered in mud...
They didn't have a photo of what followed. I'd made cake, because it's my birthday, so we all stood around getting covered in chocolate before giving up and going home. Then hubby took me out for lunch... after which I've had a snooze...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

3% bonus, better than I'd expected.
