I tend to wake up at 4 hourly intervals. I often have a look to see if anything interesting is occurring on the forum but I rarely have anything useful  to contribute. However, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one awake

Did you wear a headlight @Wilderbeast?

Am I awake. No I flipping wasn't. Watching something on YouTube and fell asleep for an hour and now it's bedtime. Right then, time to get the tax return loaded on to the laptop, he he see if that works.

Well it worked. I didn't wake until 5.30. I can't threaten myself with an early hours Tesco shop now because it isn't 24 hours anymore. Could always keep finishing clearing the loft as a standby.

I wake up around 3, I no longer reach for the phone or pc as I believe their use makes me even more awake, especially if I go for the news. Now that it is cold and I cannot go outside, I just read for a couple of hours to get me to 5. Then sleep for an hour or so. I'd say I sleep no more than 5 hours per night but not in one go. As I peeped out of the window this morning Mars was really bright in the sky.

I'm exactly the same cocchinella. It doesn't bother me now though except if I have a long drive, say 4 or 5 hours distance but I'm learning to think that it doesn't matter if I set off later than planned.

@Uff I have large floodlights in the garden I just switch on the nearest to where I want to work. They don't disturb anyone else and I get to work by night 🌃

Well that beats counting sheep @Wilderbeast

Sheep gets boring. Counting beasts in alphabetical order is more interesting. There is a surprising number beginning with X, but with luck, you won't get that far.
It is also amusing to observe them leaping over a fence. Giraffes ,elephants and slugs don't do too well, in my experience.
However, if it gets too interesting, you might end up staying awake to see the fun.

Yes I am awake (and on the pc. Just today mind! 😉) But no Guardian app opening.
It is my nephew's birthday next week so I thought of sending a little something via bank before I forget. I took a 7 km up and down walk yesterday (quite hard on the knees) then a lovely tea at a friend's. You would think that after a full active day I would sleep. Bah.
