Cup of tea and computer browsing for me. Awake since 2.30 so might as well do something useful.

I've ordered my Meds online, and paid my TV license and made up a bottle of squash to take to work this morning.

Something very useful then. Did you have a good holiday?

S'truth I went to bed about 10pm absolutely shattered but awake at 1.15 and bright as a button. Let the pooch out, blimey it's warm out there. Should be writing this in pansyface' thread about it being a weird world.

Would rather get up than lie in bed unable to sleep. Will no doubt feel tired later today.
At least the cat was pleased to have a very early breakfast.

Just let the pooch out and it's still mild out there, 14.5c. It's 19.1c in the conservatory, well it's a sun room really and it's insulated but a sun room in this area is a bit optimistic.
Anyway, awake again at silly o' clock, it's beyond a joke. Think I'll visit YouTube and watch a fungi channel.

  • Good morning @Uff Have you found a time over the day when you are tired and sleep like a log?
The reason why I ask is that my partner has got a very distinctive time: 4 to 5 o'clock in the morning and in the afternoon.
I noticed that going to bed at 7 puts me into sleep at 8 in the evening. I love weekends and holidays, because I go to bed at 7 AM again, and sleep again for 1 or 2 hours or I just relax and listen to Poirot/Marple dramatisations.
I have always been an early bird, slept no longer than 7AM when I was young, and with my cat the 4 o'clock hour was introduced. Now and then, I wake up earlier for a different reason. I don't put myself under the stress of modern scientists who say you have to sleep from 10 to 6 in a row. I noticed that my most productive hour is in the morning from 4 to 11 AM. I'm rubbish after 12 PM.

    I my garden.

I remembered reading somewhere that the "8 hours a night" is a modern thing, and the Victorians used to go to bed for a few hours before getting up again.

@Simone_in_Wiltshire yes when I wind down after my evening meal and watch the news on tv I find myself getting tired but never allow myself to sleep.

@AnniD I'd go along with that idea. I think we sleep as much as we need. I obviously don't need much. That surprises me though because I'm on the go from when I  get up until early evening.
