1.30am. Can't sleep, very noisy shouty people in ?flat above. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in, lumpy pillow, thin mattress, noise. We are going to catch an early ferry to Portsmouth in the morning.

Thanks @AnnaB. At 2am I went up and asked them to be quiet. Several Indian lads on their way to Manchester. They promised to be quiet in  5 mins, finally quiet at 3am.

We got up at 6.30am to catch the ferry. OH had rented a cabin so I was able to get some sleep. The pillow was comfier and, despite noise from the engine, I managed to sleep.

Yup I’m awake too…tried staying in bed but needed distracting so got up 60 mph wind here in NE England lots of creaks and clonks but got electricity. Thinking of those without power and or damaged homes.

I'm still up, but going to try to go to sleep now as this late awake is giving me a headache.  Hope you are all tucked up on this wet and blowy night.

Hi. Yes, been awake here too, because of the noise of the wind!! It probably sounds worse than it really is, but I'll have a look out later. I expect to see quite a lot of debris in the garden, but at least most things will grow again.

I'm more concerned about the roof. And the shed!! Neighbours have got a rather large tree, which could cause a lot of damage if it came down. Plus being the first house in the road, the wind just whips across the fields. The road runs basically SW to NE,

I hope everyone here stays safe.

Managed to get some sleep, 5 hours. Had a turn around the garden to check for damage,  but only a couple of ornaments out of place, but it is still windy out there.

Managed to get back to sleep last night now waiting for Joselyn to arrive seems relentless at the moment with all these storms.
