As a teenager, my mother found me one very cold night hanging out of an upstairs window. When she asked me what I was doing, I told her I was measuring degrees of frost. I was escorted back to bed, no recollection of any of that in the morning! Don’t think I did any more sleep walking before or since.

@AnnaB, I went through a period, years ago now, when I used to suffer from restless legs. I found that if I took  a paracetamol, got up for half and hour and then went to bed, the legs settled down and I was able to get back to sleep.

Useful to know. Restless legs drive me crazy. Thanks

Morning, thought I'd join you! A few weeks ago I was really fit and healthy, climbing the south downs, long dog walks. Just under 6 weeks ago, I got Covid first time, haven't had so much as a cold/cough for about 20 years. In fact none of my family can remember the last time!  Getting gradually better after a couple of weeks, then it all went downhill. Spent last night in hospital, diagnosed with Long Covid. I can only walk a few feet! We live in a tiny bungalow, bathroom next to our bedroom,I barely made it! So dizzy. Had a cardiologist consultant appointment by phone yesterday, she's arranging cardiac echo and review to see if it's damaged heart muscle!

I am very sorry to hear that. People do get better even after being diagnosed with LC.
I am down with something at the moment. OH has a bad cold  but I have the shivers too, what hurts most is my face. Will test for Covid tomorrow morning as soon as the shops open.

Hello coccinella, sympathy. I had gone to bed at 8, feeling unwell.,and ridiculously cold! Those of you who have known me over the years, know I don't "do" cold. My happy is a bedroom around 12c. I took a hot water bottle, still couldn't get warm. After my dizzy turn, I was shivering, took my temp expecting it to be high,it was 35.9, but I run low, average of about 36.  I was given a checklist by the ED Dr, and the cardiac consultant,if I got any of these symptoms, call 999, dizziness wasn't one of those. I'm wide awake now. The "experts" can't seem to agree, what is actually "long". I was told 4 weeks, without improvement, but I was improving at 2, then it all started going downhill ☹️. They did say the breathlessness will improve 🙏

Hello @Nanny Beach, just want to say how sorry I am to read of your latest problems. If indeed it is what they call long covid then please be careful. Take your time, get as much rest as your body demands, dont let your frustration force you into trying to rush any sort of recovery. People do recover and some do reasonably quickly. Take whatever medical help you can get, also get your family and friends on board and  tell them that you are going to have to say 'no' to a lot of their demands on you even for everyday things. You and your recovery are the most important consideration right now. My old age is against me but I caught covid while in hospital Xmas 2020 and am now a couple of months away from still suffering from its effects as Xmas 2023 comes round. But I have long come to accept that any activities will be curtailed during these latter years of my life and happily accept the few things that I can still do. I am not in any actual pain and anyway there are so many people far worse than I am for many different reasons.
Sending you hugs, my prayers and my best wishes for a complete recovery. Take care.

If only some of the people who say COVID is just a cold could read these posts. Best wishes to you both.

Thanks Punkdoc,so sorry to hear about your operation. Folks who have known me over the years on here and real live life, know (apart from last year and this) I have always been ridiculously hale and hearty. Fully jabbed, healthy lifestyle, not so much as a cold for over 20 years,no one can actually remember when I was ever 🤒. So I cannot believe how this has floored me!
