Haven't been able to do anything in the garden for over a week. Why? Gone down with a mega cold the like I haven't had since finishing teaching 12 years ago. Yes it is a cold and not Covid but the seconadry infection is causing problems.
The garden though is calling out for work to be done but it will have to wait. We too have had a lot of rain and flood alerts.
That's a shame @bertrand-mabel, do hope you get better soon. We've had heavy rain most of the day as well so haven't been able to do any gardening. I did pick up a neatly decapitated rose bloom which is now sitting in a very small rose on my table, a beautiful pale pink Eglantyne rose.
Did some repotting this morning an Aeonium that’s in the Garden room , also had to take 2 stems off it Next a Parsley plant that was root bound and finally some sedums I’ve got 2 more root bound parsley plants that I’m going to plant at allotment
Hello everybody , forgot to mention , went to a talk last night in Lincoln by Adam Frost , although promoting his new book 📖 ,we where very impressed by him In fact I’m going to buy his book , didn’t buy it last night even thought he was signing them , I known The Works have them for £10
It must be Spring. My primroses are in flower! Yesterday morning was glorious. No rain, no wind, clear blue sky and lovely sunshine. I should have gone out in the garden but decided to grab the moment and took the dog for a beautiful beach walk. I even sat on the rocks and had a mini winter sunbathe for a few minutes. It gave me time to catch my breath before the rain began again just as we arrived home. There were lots of people on the beach doing the same thing, also plenty of dogs for Robbie to introduce himself to. I took some kitchen veg. waste down to the compost heap and picked a few tomatoes in the greenhouse. Pulled up 3 tomato plant corpses. There are still 4 plants with ripening tomatoes on them. Back indoors I pickled some mini eggs from my neighbour's mini chickens, no idea what breed they are. Peculiar little black things with feathers on the toes, weird vertical tails and white wattles. They lay tiny eggs, I am also going to make myself some mini Scotch Eggs and a Bread and Butter pudding. It is chucking it down again this morning.
