Harvested as many tomatoes as l could, also runner beans. Decided to take the runner bean wigwam down, as l think we have enough and l really could use the space. I was very impressed by the hard work that the ladybirds had put in. A few weeks ago the bean plants were covered in blackfly,  but no sign of any today.
Planted Gaura "The Bride", salvia "Blue Marvel",  pulmonaria "Blue Ensign" and geranium "Russell Pritchard" ,  also disposed of a dahlia that had been absolutely shredded by slugs.
Forecast for tomorrow is for strong winds, so made sure everything put away/tied down.

I pruned a tall rose that was threatening to reach for the sky in case we get more high winds tomorrow and staked a lovely thalictrum in full bloom for the same reason. We've nearly finished the 2nd leaf bin - might be full tomorrow!

Lovely day here after all the wet and wild stuff recently. Been pottering and faffing. Garden waste bin is nearly full again which may give me an excuse not to mow both lawns this week! Fettled all the new strawberry runners - going to have plenty of year 1 plants for the new patch.

mowed the grass before the rain descends again, dead headed the cannas they're doing really well after a very slow start. @Nanny Beach  you can have a picture once the greenhouse arrives, mind estimated date is into January 😭😭 all manufacturers are struggling due to huge demands in lock down. Cleared the duckweed from the pond and collected more plums

Turned a bin of compost and mixed in yesterday's grass clippings, I've left it uncovered as it's very dry while the weather is very wet !!! Collected another bucket of apples and plums.
