I got in from work this afternoon and had a wander around to inspect any changes from yesterday. I then came in an I have sown around 160 Marigold seeds. I never have much luck with Marigolds (even though I am told that they are easy) so it has turned into a bit of a challenge for me each year.
My father-in-law (86yr old vigneron still going strong) came to have a look. He grows tomatoes to sell on the roadside to tourists in summer. I asked him if he had heard the "trick" about running a credit card over the young tomato plants - no, he hadn't but he commented that perhaps it's to make lots of money when you sell your tomatoes!! I like his way of thinking!!
Lizzie27 I give the local primary schools some for their gardening clubs the rest I sell to my customer's £1 a,plant for tomatoes and cucumbers pre ordered each year.
Carried on tidying my main bed, digging out loads of allium bulbs which I've left at the bottom of the drive for people to take away. Also dug up several other unwanted plants and moved them elsewhere.
