I finally got round to sowing the runner beans, the carrots are germinating and OH planted out the first batch of peas yesterday. I also potted up some bits and bobs. Hope we don't get any frosts.
I liked the boot scraper, too but as my middle name is "clumsy", I am sure it could just be an accident waiting to happen in my garden! Planted courgettes, last of aubergines and tomatoes. Sowed fennel, parsnips and turnips. Still haven't sown the wild garlic yet.
Potted on some heleniums and hardy geraniums. Planted a Galega and shrubby salvia and tided up pots - l have cuttings etc. all over the place. The forecast is for a temperature of 22 degrees on Saturday and then 9 degrees on Sunday with a low of 1 degree overnight . That's going to be a bit of a shock to the system!
Hello all , good day in garden , finished repairing gate to stream and put braces on Front Bench and teak oiled it , plus a few little jobs Overcast until mid day then sun came out , nice afternoon Going to allotment tomorrow
Looking foreword to VE Day , next door , one of his occupations is a 1940’s DJ and if the weathers good with play Records on front lawn for everyone in the close , he does the Woodhall Spa 1940 weekend , a Big event in Lincolnshire
Took delivery of plants including Astrantia, Galega and Aster. Dug out loads of comfrey that was running riot while apologising to a big fat bumblebee. Planted penstemons and heleniums. Wind has dropped and it's turned into a very warm afternoon.
Got out in the front garden for a change as OH was pottering around out there. Dug out a half dead rose "Ruby Wedding" and the rubbish soil in the area. Replaced it with some half decent stuff and planted a cherry red shrubby salvia in one part. Also dug out an iris and replaced that with an osteospermum. Chopped a load of green waste up as small as possible, the compost bins and green waste bin are full to bursting. Potted up the rose to see if it survives, watered all the clematis in pots. Plan this afternoon is to plant the 2 David Austin roses that arrived this morning (maybe), and wash a load of pots to drying the sunshine. Lunch break first though, l'm starving!
