Moved a Rodgersia that was hiding a bit too much.  Also moved a Myrtle to a spot that needed an evergreen shrub. Planted two roses, did a bit of weeding and gave everything a good watering.  Lawn mowing tomorrow I think.

Ok, so technically this was yesterday, not today but i spent my evening digging out lumps of flint like this and massive blocks of concrete 😟

Ended the day scattering a load of wildflower seeds into the dug out bed
I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

Had a very early start after camping in the garden with my boys, this didn't agree with my back so up at 5am with the larks🤣. Armed with a big brew I divided and moved a clump of loverage. I found a fern hiding away behind our giant angelica so dug it up split and put it in the stumpery. Dug over and added compost to the front of my tropical bed and then put in a drift of heucarra, some plum pudding, marmalade and lime marmalade. About 30 went in they all came from 3 plants last autumn. Planted out some rosemary cuttings from last year. Went round hoeing out scotch thistle seedlings, millions of the blighters. Then breakfast

Good heavens @Wilderbeast , you are a glutton for punishment. I too, woke up early, but being of a somewhat lazy disposition, just sat in the recliner with a cuppa and watched the birds on the feeder!
I did get going later though and potted up some split Siberian sage, emptied 6 pots (lots of weeds) rescued 3 catmints from said pots and did a lot of watering.

Blossom seems rather stunning this year , unless I’m seeing more walking around the village

@Lizzie27 I know 2 nights in a row camping thank goodness for the early morning gardening to get over it 🤣🤣🤣. I love the early morning gardening work outs I get loads done unhindered by kids or wife, in ordinary times I do an hour and half before breakfast every working day. It makes me feel alive for the whole day
  • We planted out tomato, cucumber, squash, courgette and sweet corn seedlings, all started off in our conservatory and are now having their first night out.  Luckily the weather is good, so we will probably be watering them tomorrow morning.  I am planning to sow some leek seeds in the morning too.

@GWRS and I live in throwing distance from each other (nearby villages) @Guernsey Donkey2 and even though the days are warm its still 5/6° at night. That does not stop my itchy fingers wanting to plant out the French beans,  but that is still two/three weeks away yet.😔🙄
  • We are so fortunate here, although we get more than our fair share of strong winds, foggy days etc. The plants survived their first night out!  I have back-up plants just in case they don't survive this April weather.
Today I sowed leek seeds, potted on some Harebells, cherry tomatoes and one Castor oil plant.
