Freezing here today, so I stayed in, though job for tomorrow, dismantle the old compost heap and build a new one. I feel a bit funny about it. The wooden compost heap was the first thing I put in the garden around 14 years ago when I moved to my current house. I suppose it did well! I'm building a new one closer to the veg plot, the space where it is now is getting dug up for new raspberry canes.

Batwood41 I'd love all that compost right now, I spread nearly all mine as mulch before all the recent events and wish I'd sieved it all now. The OH is amazed that other people actually put anytime into compost 😀.

Dug up and moved some snow drops, they were on our boundary and we couldn't see them. They've gone in our winter/spring garden right next to house where can appreciate them.

It's too cold and windy to do any outside work today so I've been in the conservatory potting on verbascums and snapdragons.  Still waiting for plug plants that were being delivered last Thursday.  I'm hoping it was a computer generated letter and that they are just delayed rather than sitting in the post office.

Tidied the garage up to make room for 4x60 ltr of mpc, 1x60 ltr of ericeacous compost, 2 boxes of rose food and 1 small box of slow release fertiliser  that's going to be delivered. The local gc was closed so hubby had a email saying that they were doing orders over the phone but had to be £30 or more for free delivery.

I ordered some asparagus crowns but due to my dithering, missed the special offer which has now been sold out. Hope the crowns don't dry out during delivery.

@batwood14 my old man (a farmer) would call that "man's land" we have lighter soil but it has every weed going mind your own business, mares tail, creeping buttercup, couch grass and thistles my personal list of hatred 😠.

Painted timber edging boards in preparation for next job.
