Disaster in the kitchen this evening 😱... a freshly started large jar of Marmite slipped out of OHs hands and crashed to the floor ... he’d just smeared a smidgeon onto his buttered toast ... if he hadn’t there might have been some curses.
Now for an investment in another jar ...

I would have thought the destruction of a jar of Marmite should be in the 'antidote' thread. :D

Lots of Lib Dems and Greens did well up here ... they've taken over several councils. :)

Tories have lost control here, hurrah, and the biggest group are independents. I think party politics should not be part of local elections. I've said for years they should all be independent and should stand on purely local issues, not a verdict , positive or negative, on Westminster / Downing Street.

There's a protest by the losing candidate in a seat near to us.  Two candidates had the same number of votes and the returning officer decided to accept a ballot which had 'Brexit' written on it and an arrow pointing to the Tory candidate.  How could the returning officer know what was in the mind of the voter, and I thought the only permissible marking on a ballot paper was an X.

In fact a paper is only invalid if the voting intention cannot be determined, it does not have to be marked with an X.
