I have a cat like that tree peony, Obelixx. It sits there, aloof from everything else, saying ‘Look at me. I know I’m beautiful.’ What a stunning plant.

What as splendid "pivoine arbustive", @Obelixx and in bloom so early in season. Must be the oceanic mild climate of la Vendée!

    These little tulips opened today:

And this border is still work in progress but I like how these plants look next to each other: Leucothoe Axillaris 'Curly Red' and young rose foliage:

The few tulips that survived tulip fire in a cooler part of my garden started to open yesterday, these are Snow Crystal and Lilac Beauty...plus weeping cherry bursting with flowers and mobbed by bees:

Love those little beauties too Edhelka, I’m going to try some species tulips next year and was eying up that one.

I love species tulips too and found they were the only ones that coped in my Belgian garden.   The taller hybrids either failed to appear (eaten?) or broke in the wind.   I'll be planting them here.

Hi Papi Jo.  That peony has certainly responded well to TLC.   Love it.  I've bought seeds for lutea.
