Wow - very nice Camellia - I have similar in my garden but not sure what variety though. - It could be 'elegans' and there are a few cultivars of this https://www.rhs.org.uk/Plants/97390/Camellia-japonica-Elegans/Details
  • You have a lovely outlook from your window picidae, a very handsome visitor and some beautiful trees, are there silver birch in the background?

Looks like tomorrow should be the first day of the year with a Centaurea montana flower.

    Lovely pix everyone.  :)
Nothing to stop you putting Mr Pheasant on the other thread too Picidae  ;)
What is it you wanted to know about the Camellia, Jason? Did you mean the variety?
That dark pink one is fairly widespread, and it seems to be one of the earliest. I've even seen a few starting to flower round here, which is quite early for Camellias.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

@Ante30 Your Acer "Orange Dream" looks stupendous!
    My contribution of  the day:
    Narcissus  triandrus  'Thalia'
Cyrtomium falcatum aka Japanese holly fern
    The West border
    The West border (closer)
  • What a beautifully laid out garden you have Papi Jo. The narcissus are exceptional.
I don't know what these two blossom trees are - but neither of them fruit - they were gifts and not what I would have chosen, even though the blossom is lovely it is so short lived as we have such a windy garden here.I think these are Little Red Riding hood tulips

Hi fairygirl...I think I've got the variety I think . I was just curious as to why the plants flowers are so much deeper in colour compared to previous years. This year is virtually crimson ! It's a beautiful thing no matter what colour though

Hi folks, lovely photos, thanks for posting.  I have taken a few today.
This was a Sarah Raven collection planted last year, it's just as good this year, the tulips come up a little later.

Still have planted this prunus in the pot yet.  Another job for the weekend.

Excuse the half painted fence, I'll get there in the end.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
