Not that original, I’m sure, @Sandygarden, but thanks - the border is meant to be red, orange and purple - but a lot of my red roses planted there go pink, as do the echinaceas as they age, Waltraut ‘orange’ heleniums are bright yellow, so much for planning. Feel free, @Fire, so long as you don’t mind the tiger mosquitoes and the now forecast 40degC heat...eek!
Thanks for the gen on the salvia @WillDB, that one has been on my list for a while...
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@AuntyRach as long as it is fairly sturdy then dont see why not, the tree will probably give up the ghost and fall down at some point in a few years I guess, but until then they make a handy support.
Decided to go out once it had cooled a bit as not taken any pics in a while. Love how the eryngium is slowly turning blue.
The borders are starting to look a little more vibrant and each year the perinniels bulk out. Looking forward to the two stipa gigantica taking off in the far border. The front border is usually annuals and things I'm unsure if I like.
Gladioli which I don't didn't like at all last year but they've grown on me, so will probably keep but move them next spring.
Finally a rogue sweet pea which must be from last year as I'm not growing any this year, at least it's hiding some of the allium mess which I need to sort out x
We sat out in the twilight yesterday evening, watching moths, cockchafers, bats and a hedgehog ... the scent of the honeysuckle was wonderful and the plants just glowed in the dusk
The hedgehog appears to have taken up residence in a wooden hedgehog house to the right of the fence post left of centre, behind the white campanulas.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Please excuse clutter in aerial view if it offends.😊
