Just thought nobody posting hear because the weather is so good
    To hot for some people
If this carries on into the summer will we have a drought ?
Don’t think I’ve ever done so much watering this early on in the year

We have an official drought now @GWRS , 16 days without any rain and counting.  No rain forecast for at least another few days.  We desperately need some rain although the resevoir is 97% full thank goodness, so we don't have to worry about water shortages.  The water butts are all empty so we are relying on mains water for our veg patch and any new plants. Having said all that of course we are enjoying the sunshine and planning days ahead for eating outside or walking/swimming etc.
  • Extremely hot here in Kent all of May, more like August Vs May! Young plants are wilting as their roots can't cope vs the leaf water loss. Having to water regularly, and all the lawns here are crispy, yellow and dry too. Rain much needed! 2020 is globally predicted to be the hottest year on record. In the spring our daffodils had all gone over by the end of JAN and all the Tulips had finished by early March. I do really feel like things are speeding up here in the south...

A warm and sunny day here. I have never seen my Hydrangeas and Astilbes wilt in May before!

Never watered so much this early in the year , last Thursday filled up 3 water cubes at allotment each contain 1000 litres ?
At home ,  fortunately we have a stream at side of garden  so can use water 💧 from there for garden , to think last November/December we had floods ! What’s the world coming to !

Thank goodness for a lovely drop of rain, everything perked up especially the veggies, this last week out at 6.30 am watering the veg plot, our water meter bill will be up for sure, but it kept the veg in good order, never water flower beds or lawns they will pick up with the rain.

We've got rain! But not a lot so far! It's looking grey out there now so really hoping for a lot more, hopefully overnight.
