Cornwall It looked as if it was building up to rain this morning so went out early with the dog. It was unbelievably warm. Then the sun came out and it has been positively hot all day. At last.
Having been inside doing stuff all morning (all the time it was lovely outside), I finally got out for a walk after lunch. Got a mile up the road and the heavens opened - really opened. My cag couldn't get rid of the water fast enough - onto my legs. I got soaked and beat a hasty retreat back home. Now I'm sitting at the computer and it's sunny outside
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border. I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
@JennyJ I saw this morning that Doncaster and more in the north and towards Norwich are affected by drought. Hopefully the 60 mm (which is more than half a meter) helps a bit. ...
Looking back at this I noticed the comment about more than half a metre - that would be 60 cm not 60 mm and would be more than our average annual rainfall . 60 mm is 6cm, so about 2.5 inches, which would be about 1.5 to 2 times our long-term averages for the month of March.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
