Still very windy in the Fens, dog and I nearly got blown away this morning. The wind looks like it's changed direction and is blowing from the North. I'm impressed with my plastic tunnel, it's baring up well to the wind, helped by the strong storm force clothes pegs I bought for the rotary line.

Ground is drying well enough, thanks to the wind, to do some flower bed gardening.

Sunday night looks to be cold, no doubt they'll be a frost at 1C.
Trying to be the person my dog thinks I am!

    Cambridgeshire/Norfolk border.
  • We seem to have caught the same wind here in north Kent. Perhaps a little eased after passing across East Anglia. I felt it when I went for a newspaper early this morning.
Only had my hair cut yesterday too, so it was a bit of a shock. Should have taken my hat.

Sounds quite widespread. Same here in Yorkshire, gusty winds, sunshine and showers.

We only got a few spits of rain yesterday and it's not looking great for today - dull, breezy, not very warm but no sign of any rain - but it does mean I might get the grass cut. Or I might leave it until tomorrow when we're forecast cool but sunny.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
  • Overcast but mild despite overnight snow and sleet.  33F climbing to 46F this afternoon.  Current snowpack measurements in the pasture averaged 17 inches, which was unexpected; I assumed we must be a foot or less at this point.  Temperatures expected to be in the low 50sF tomorrow.
    New England, USA
Metacomet soil with hints of Woodbridge and Pillsbury
  • Cornwall
What a glorious day. Warm, sunny, not too hot. Dog and I had a lovely beach walk, loads of people and dogs making the most of it. Lots of people just walking, no dog attached. Blue sky, sun and sea like a mill pond.
I managed to have a potter in the garden as well.
    Back to reality today.
Grey, overcast, boring, heavy rain again. It looks as if it has set in for the day.
A gentleman told me yesterday he was going home to build an ark! Not a bad idea.
