Yay for rain Pat ☔️ You asked a while ago whether littlest Chicklet is heading your way ....we don’t know yet. Her application is in, but her top 3 choices have to be from 3 different countries. So we don’t know if it will be Australia, Canada or US .....find out end January.
Glad the vet’s report was good Rgirl .....always helps make a lovely day 😀
Off to the New Forest for a lunch to celebrate my Dad’s birthday today 🎁
I leave my phone downstairs as well. Fairy tell your friend not to look at any screens for at least an hour before bed, or get some special glasses that filter out blue light. The blue light in the morning is what wakes us up!
She's made the move to having an ordinary alarm clock instead of using her phone, AB. I think that will help a good bit. It's that common problem [and I do believe it's a problem] that many people have, of being constantly available at the end of a phone. Habit too. She has dogs and takes them out earlyish, but then faffs around doing things that other family members could do, so she could really get up half an hour later as well. Small changes can make big changes, but whether she'll do them is another matter Anyway - morning all/afties, evening Pat. What a relief for you to get rain and a bit of cooler weather. I expect you could do with a week of that to get the ground really soaked well. I'm not commenting much on the bird netting thing. It's too vile to contemplate. How often do you hear these practices defended because 'it's a tradition'. Utter s***e. Our lovely crisp frosts have deserted us here , and we just have cold, murky conditions. Dry though which I'm happy about. The men will be coming soon to do my roughcasting, so at least I don't have any more water damage. That'll be more painting. The bedroom is nearly done though. Struggling to move the furniture to access bits as there's not much room and my assistants have been away for a few days. Covered in plaster dust last night from sanding. Lovely.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
@Busy-Lizzie Ma always said that if it doesn’t snow at Christmas it’ll snow for my birthday (end of Jan) and she was often right ... apparently I arrived during a blizzard and on the journey to the hospital the ambulance spun around in the road and nearly slid into a ditch

OH and I were muttering to one another when they were talking on the news about the Japanese deciding to resume whaling because it's part of their culture. We've decided that as we're both British, we can save some money on our next building job by popping down to Africa and kidnapping the first couple of people we see then forcing them to work on the site for free. It's part of our culture.
Or we might just go and find a bear and chain it up in the street and collect money by poking it with a stick. Its part of our culture.
Next door has a youngish child who'd probably fit up the chimney. That would save some money, too.
And think how much money in taxes the Govrenmnet could save if they went back to 'pressing' men to join the navy. We could save Capita's huge fee, for a start.
I really don't think we've all explored the options properly

Morning all.
Have a lovely lunch, Chicky.
The firefighters, including your OH, must be relieved, Pat.
My brother posted something on Facebook. 2 gardeners, No 1 said "I wonder what 2019 will bring?" No 2 said "Flowers, I am sowing flowers".
We will take down the decorations today, sweep and dust where they were and our New Year will begin. Just hope it doesn't snow when we go to Norfolk!
