He's a handsome fellow PR, Snuffles sounds good! Do you know my one and only "Plum Pudding" had virtually gone over winter, but now I'm wondering if it was because I did cuttings from it at the wrong time? The cuttings didn't take anyway,I thought they had, then they started to die off one by one.
I thought a mix of the coloured ones would look good, anyway it will depend what I can see and where,as the GC prices are very expensive round here,I don't think Lidls will be coming up with Sweet Tea any time soon.😊😊
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
I was going to suggest "Horace", but l like "Snuffles" ! Heucheras would look good @Valley Gardener, those all round the pond in GW last week were very striking. You could always try the SGC, l don't know if they have any at the moment though. Right, teabreak over, time for the next stage....
@Fran IOM, they are all solar owls - l have got a solar hedgehog somewhere but it doesn't bear much resemblance to any hedgehog that l have ever seen .
@Valley Gardener l am beginning to think that even if l had a large flashing arrow sign, and the words "Restaurant entrance here", (with a neon hedgehog for those who couldn't read) , there would still be a cavalcade of baffled looking hedgehogs going round and round outside.......
@AnniD Thought you only had the one "very old" owl. Are you hiding any more? @Valley Gardener Had a look on SGC and they had four heucheras but more or less the same colouring. Also had a look on Dobies (where I got my hydrangea) and they have a much better selection but if you needed quite a few it would be quite pricey. It was another lovely afternoon. Decided to cut the grass again as there is a lot of rain forecast in the next few days. Then tidied up the patio area which was covered in those little white petals from the privet flowers, hosed it all down and it looks a lot tidier. It will probably be covered in them again tomorrow. The cutting of the fuchsia hedge was put to one side. I shall have to go back to it if it isn't raining tomorrow.
This is one of my pound shop roses. Quite a bit of blackspot. I heard recently that when everyone used to burn coal for heat there was no blackspot and it only happened after coal was no longer popular. Came from someone who owns a garden centre. Whether it's true or not I don't know. This is a rather pretty shrub when it's fully in flower. Not a very good photo but if you can zoom in you may recognise it as I don't have a name for it.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your evening.
