Well, he was unable to fulfil his promise to provide free bananas to schools through the council, but he did work with the local PCT to supply fresh fruit to schools. He stood as mayor for 3 terms as l recall, but not as the monkey because Peter Mandelson wouldn't let him (no sense of humour). After that Hartlepool decided to abolish the mayoral system. Personally l would vote for a sloth, as l feel it would achieve more in a day than this lot have achieved in what seems like a lifetime.
