😀😀😀 if they can waste it why not us? What exactly do they do, they have cameras set up on every corner all they have to do is sit and watch a tv screen.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
I've been told several times that the only way to get them to turn up is to say you think they have a gun, or think you heard a gunshot. You have to be getting murdered in your bed nowadays to get a response, and even then, don't expect it to be quick.
I don't condone it but, no wonder some folk take it into their own hands to dish out some 'justice'.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I'm afraid the answer is in our own hands, much like funding of the NHS. If we all volunteered to pay more tax, they'd have more "resources" but nobody ever offers to pay more tax, they just expect "somebody else" to pay for it.
I had that conversation at work the other day. The only problem is - even if we all paid more tax, how can we trust any of them to use it the way we would all like, and not just divert it to feather their own nests in some way....

Been out all day fetching Possum from the airport and going to the Xmas market at Nantes. Gilets jaunes out and about and being a slight nuisance but nothing drastic.
Gatway - if you bought a house around that area 30 years ago there were far fewer flights per hour and no night flights as it was a secondary airport. Now it's 2nd in the country. If you can't sell your house because of the increased air traffic and can't sleep cos of the noise or breather because of the fumes I can quite understand people getting frustrated but I don't condone using a drone to disrupt flights.
Having said that, the airport management has been found wanting in its preparations and the police not well prepared either. Not impressive.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
I saw an interview with a pilot last night. Drones aren't allowed to fly within 1km of an airport, but he said , when a plane is 1km from landing, it's at half the legal height to fly a drone. Methinks many , many lessons need to be learned from this.
@Hostafan1 "why couldn't they be honest and say " couldn't be bothered"?"
My thoughts exactly they really can not be bothered anymore they will tell you its all the cut's but really?
I rang 999 a couple of weeks ago. some guy was driving a mini digger down out street on the path no lights the best bit was he got it wedged under the bus stop opposite.
I explained this to the nice lady in the control room thinking it was probably stolen from the building site down the road and here was the opportunity to catch the guy red handed.
Her response was I will pass it on but I don't think they will attend and hung up.
A week later we find out the site down the road had been broken into and guess what was stolen yep a mini digger and tools.
I did go down to the site and tell them what I had done and the guy there told me it took three days for the police to turn up after they reported the theft and then it was only a PCSO on a bike " couldn't be bothered"?"
Somebody should have hidden the PCSO's bike while they were on site. I'd have loved to see their face if that had happened.
Why can't there be an additional element of tax where the taxpayer could decide what the money would be spent on - a bit like the green discs in Waitrose. This would be true democracy. Also a large proportion of money donated to charity could be ring fenced so that it couldn't be spent on fat cat salaries and fancy offices.
