A pet yes, but it's a cat and we all know what they do. :D

An appropriately curmudgeonly thought @Picidae ... Nice to see standards being maintained ... well done  ;)

  • Electronic prescriptions a great improvement NOT

When I use to go to the doctor and he gave me a paper prescription I would walk to the chemist next door it would be made up and off I went.

Not any more now they have gone all high tech  :D  I see the doctor after waiting two weeks for the appointment! and he pushes a few buttons and my prescription has gone electronically.

I toddle off to the chemist but whats this no prescription  :/  No the nice lady / man says it can take anything from two hours to two days to arrive, it's then I notice a new sign " PLEASE ALLOW 7 TO 10 DAYS FOR YOUR ELECTRONIC PRESCRIPTION TO BE DISPENSED"

So its taken two weeks to get the appointment two weeks to get my medication in that time I could be dead or its healed it's self  :|

  • Yes it always shocks IT people when you can prove that a piece of paper or record card is more efficient than their so called "improvement"

I feel your pain @Hampshire_Hog (not literally, obviously !). My OH probably spends more time in the pharmacy than anywhere else, GP is forever tweaking his parents' prescriptions which leads to confusion at the pharmacy, and him going backwards and forwards between them and the surgery. MIL had an appointment this morning, a new prescription, not in stock so he has to go and pick it up after 5pm tomorrow. I know they can't be expected to have everything in stock, and they have to check and double check, but it did seem to be easier in the old days! Probably down to a vast increase in the drugs available these days.I think there is somebody on the forum who works/worked in a pharmacy and l know that it's not easy on the other side of the counter either.

I'm absolutely furious with my cold that's not shifting!
  • @Phaidra Join the club, my OH had it first for a change thought I had avoided it but succumbed. More than 2 weeks on still have the catarrh & blocked up feeling.

When you get annoyed about a virus, it usually means you're on the mend. Before that you feel too rotten to give a rat's. Hope you both feel better soon.
