Maybe it's best not to look at such things. Remember The Day of the Triffids😱

  • My current gripe is the endless adverts for Danny Bl**dy Dyer doing a so called history programme on the Beeb.  Ads on TV AND radio no escape   :#

I've just spent a day shredding every bit of paperwork gained over 2 years relating to my previous neighbours - the FB's.  Wonderful feeling.
The curmudgeonly bit is that my poor shredder overheated  ;)
You need to get a new compost heap going Philippa, just screw them up and throw them on with a vengeance!

I know unfortunately it looks like they have tried to add some humour into this program which is a real shame because he is one person who really can prove his royal family history back for hundreds of years that will make a very interesting program if it is handled well.

    We wait to see.

I've seen those as well (l know what you mean about overkill). It reminded me of Horrible Histories , but without the humour.

meh. The BBC advertising itself is a constant irritation to one as perpetually curmudgeonly as me.

I don't want to watch Les Miserables.

  • My OH is quite a history buff & she cannot abide the Horrible Histories format, though we recognise that many children love the emphasis on dirt & poo etc.

Alexander Armstrong also traced his line back to William the Conqueror.   He went off and did hidden parts of Italian cities.  Much more to my liking than some oik being oiky in an oiky format.

Not watching Les Miz either RG, or the Midwives or Slavery or anything else involving mankind being horrid to mankind and not learning from history.  Given up watching Brexit too.

  •  Sir Matthew Pinsent's line went back to 2 kings & therefore straight back to god! but he doesn't crow or make stupid programmes about it.
