T'Bird. Almost finished the decs, just the 'twigs' to arrange. I searched the Radio Times page by page for the Celia Johnson film - sounds a good'un. I'll watch something else - love the black and white 1940's films.
Went out with my worker earlier but still had a sore stomach - couldn't go to my favourite pub which I've been looking forwardbto for weeks because of no appetite
We have had the lights flickering on and off for the last few hours. I am expecting the power to go off completely at some point. I have got the camping kettle on standby on the gas cooker ready. Got to get the priorities right.
Another heads up for TV quiz fans - Only Connect is on every night Mon - Thurs😊 and (just for Pansy if she’s looking in...) on Tues BBC4 - the Truth Abt Christmas Carols.
F’edge - that film is so rarely on TV these days. A shame ‘cos it’s really quite traditional British fare - snow at Christmas in Norfolk (so much that the whole country would grind to a halt now), family gatherings, family secrets, family rows, trains on Christmas Day, carol singers with lanterns, roast goose, a bottle of whisky that only comes out for Christmas, single presents the size of a packet of fags and a love match thwarted by life’s events and family loyalties. And Celia Johnson being all ‘Brief Encounter brave’ throughout.
Eee - they don’t make ‘em like that any more....
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
