Pansy I wouldn't have sung the carol either how inappropriate. Hazel sorry to hear another relative not well and at the eye hospital hope they will get better soon and also that your brother and father are feeling a little better.
Good grief - Hazel I had missed that post about 23 and his poorly eye. I think it was because it was in a 'quote box' so I assumed that I had already read it. I've just been back and seen that you carried on typing inside the quote box and thats how I missed it. Sorry to hear about the poor little mite.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Hazel - sounds as though things are looking up for your brother - hopefully some good news on the way regarding your father next.
Our post arrives at anytime between 9.30am and 3pm although the other week it was nearer to 5pm - think the van had broken down or summat. We always had one regular who really is called Pat - but she’s now gone part time so Nigel does her ‘off days’. We get the occasional relief postie to cover holidays but Pat brings them round to introduce them & detail all her customers’ individual requirements. One of the nicest sides to rural living.
We had a pretty drive through Heartbeat country followed by a good wander round Whitby & some excellent f&c’s. I’m now sat in the (rapidly cooling) car while OH does some more photography of the impossibly quaint and beautiful village of Staithes. He wants to do dusk - just as the street lamps come on. It’s freezing out there & there’s a stiff breeze off the sea. He needs his bumps feeling. Only a numpty would want to stand outside waiting for the light to be just right in these temps.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Afters all. Yes, MU I was half way through my shift. I was on my break. We had been told that we would be having a Christmas buffet supplied today, so I took in a tub of onion dip, that I could dip things like pork pie and sausage rolls in. When break time came around we found out that it was a 'Christmas dinner 'they had arranged. Very nice for the people with normal eating regimes, but no good for me without notice. And who makes a Christmas dinner without gravy!!!! I was not amused. If we had been told it had been changed to a full dinner I could have been prepared.
I did enjoy the pork casserole OH had made when I got home.
Top Bird . Staithes was my grandmothers favourite holiday destination . She sent us some realy lovely cards from there .But it must be very very cold there at the moment .
PF Apparently they decided to change it last week, but never thought to tell us workers. They thought we would appreciate a full dinner better. We probably would if we had been told, but all the posters still said a buffet.
