Forest , when I was young we used to holiday in that area . My parents were walkers and we spent our holidays hiking . I remember walking through a very  steep wood .I think it was called Egaslack (spelling ) .Love that area.

Evening all.  Sorry to hear about your family illnesses Hazel and Pansy.  Hope things turn out the best way possible.  I woke up this morning with a sore throat and even more of a problem to swallow than normal,  so I rang the doctors at 8 o'clock and got an appointment for this afternoon. She had a good look round and couldn't see anything amiss, but said there is a throat virus doing the rounds. I have been told to take paracetamol and throat pastels and go back if it gets worse. She said that I will probably wake up tomorrow with no voice. ........that will please OH. Apparently this virus hangs around for about 3 weeks.

Pansy and Hazel it's sad hearing your news and hope you look after yourselves.  Topbird it sounds like your having a lovely time travelling and making discoveries, I hope yoou have more.  LB I'm glad you had a lovely time even if you didn't have a drink I rarely have one these days.  Another cool wet day.  Went to sm which was quite busy and had to self serve as only had a few items.  Quite blustery on the way back and managed to let Alfie and Ed out of the bedroom as they were having their afternoon snooze when I first went out.  Dreamies supplied and cat bowl topped up.

Mmmmmm sticky toffee pudding   It has to be from Cartmel though. I like going on Race Day. The last time I was there I went to the bookshop and the proprietor was a gentleman of mammoth proportions. He sat on a stool in the entrance like a cork in a bottle. It was virtually impossible to get around him.
Yes Rebecca, we have to keep the furry friends happy.

Ruby.  We started walking from Cark towards Cartmel and then over Grange Fell and down to Humphrey Head, then back along the coast to Kents Bank.

I feel sorry for her Runners. Poisoned chalice and all that. On the other hand she was probably old enough & wise enough to know that.
Big question though - what’s the bl@@dy alternative?
