OH was down to lead a cycle ride today in 'feel like' temps of -1C & with heavy rain forecast for most of the day. He went along to the meeting point for 9.30 because he felt duty bound to do so - but hoping and fully expecting to be able to come straight back home because no one else would be daft enough to turn up. Four of them ended up cycling 40 miles in the rain. Why? Why? They're probably the same daft ones who turn up to F'edge's walks on horrible days.
Had a little trip to the picture framers this morning (an old picture fell off the wall last week and broke the frame). Came home and made soup and mixed up all the ingredients for Chr****as pud. Being left to marinade for 24 hrs and the kitchen smells lovely😋
MU - sorry to hear you've still feeling so rough. Steam inhalations just before bed are the only thing that works for me. Have even been known to fill a wide necked flask with boiling water to keep by the bed. If a 2am coughing fit strikes you can just open it up and breathe the steam. Very soothing. Some decongestant tablets might also help with the whistling ears etc.
Chey - being 'signed off' for a year is a long time for one so young. As MU said - do try to use the freedom in a beneficial way - helping out at the allotments or perhaps you could find some voluntary catering work or help out at a local charity shop. They're all things that look good on a CV and you don't have make a huge time commitment if you don't feel able to.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Never mind Pansy at least you've got transport until your own cars back after its overhaul. I've collected quite a few cards I've sent out over the years. MU hope the colds improving and your eating, feed a cold, and drinking plenty. Joyce I just had some toast for lunch and a piece of cheese. Charming pic Runny I would have bought that one. Cooler day, the days much darker and very wet and somewhat windy. Bought some boots from sm as feet are wet and cold. Having a ready meal tonight chicken tikka that should warn me up.
Don't think I've ever suffered from chattering boobs! We had sleet which lasted all of one minute. A hint of what's to come as the temperature has plummeted since yesterday. Hazel, don't lose the pressies in the move unless you plan a game of hunt the parcel.
