Just back from walking the dogs with my friend. On a disused phone box we saw this:
She said, "Lies never stop with this lot. That's not seeing your GP; and how about the millions on hospital waiting lists? Unless they plan to employ barbers to remove tonsils, appendices, cancers and the rest , so there are no waiting lists at all."
... Unless they plan to employ barbers to remove tonsils, appendices, cancers and the rest , so there are no waiting lists at all."
I fear, it may be coming.
Apparently, surgery started with barbers, and, it would seem, that's the reason they're not given the courtesy title of dr.
History has dictated the use of the courtesy title Dr by physicians and general practitioners.[69] However, surgeons do not use the title of Dr and, due to the origins of surgery with the barber surgeons, instead use Mr, Mrs, Ms, Miss, etc. This custom applies to surgeons of any grade who have
passed the appropriate exams and is not the exclusive province of
consultant-level surgeons.

In their battle against the nurses, I fear that the Tories are employing the same technique they employed with brexit, stretching out the problem by refusing to negotiate properly or agree to anything the negotiators offered till the people couldn't take any more and voted the for get-it-done Boj.
I'm rather convinced they want to get rid of the NHS, so they've refused to fund it APPROPRIATELY since they came in. People get fed up waiting; and seeing that things are getting worse, apparently, many have already taken private insurance in order to get the treatment they need.
Farage has been calling for that for years- his funder , Arron Banks owns insurance companies, I believe.
It seems the Tories try not give away their plan yet.

INTERNATIONAL NURSES' DAY, 12 May 2023
Let's thank God for our committed nurses and remember the Lady of the Lamp on her birthday.

Martin Luther KingI truly fear you're right, Zoe .
As for Farage, Banks and the rest of their ilk...
