Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Feeling a little unhappy that I didn't join my daughter for a couple of days in Madrid (she's there on business), as I find high temperatures difficult, I escaped in to the garden to do a little work.

When I reached the jasmine, I noticed a young branch lying on the ground.  I picked it up and, to my surprise, I discovered it had started to grow roots!

When I purposely try to propagate things, I often fail but when I'm not looking...

Well, it somehow helped me feel better!

I was once privileged to be standing right up close to DA at an event where he was the guest of honour ... as well as being the most amazing chap, he has wonderful skin 😃

I think you did the right thing, Helen.  I'm just back from Paris and I can tell you the heat can be merciless.  We hid from the sun as well as we possibly could and only ventured out early in the morning or late in the evening.  I often felt I was going to faint!
    But Paris was still beautiful!

Glastonbury = hypocracy writ large!  David Attenborough praises them for banning single use plastics but most of the tents which were left behind are too badly damaged to be reused and will end up in landfill because the fireproof coating on them makes them unsuitable for recycling and potentially dangerous to incinerate. Add to that, there are hundreds of tons of other crap left all over the site.  Very environmentally friendly - not.
