We all know what a racist's "norm" is...

I have a dream that my.. children.. one day.. will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character

Who gives a flying fiddler's **** what race the families are? Mixed race isn't the norm here but it's commonplace enough to go without remark.
No one in any of the adverts looks anything like me. And their Christmases look nothing like mine but that isn't going to affect what I buy. However, the tables groaning with beige food and the bendy carrot( ready for the compost heap), I find off-putting.

The pic of that house on the right is tiny and possibly does not reflect the whole of the property (nor the location) but, at first glance, that is not my idea of a "luxury home". It looks very plain.
NB.- I do not live in a luxury home myself, and would not like to live in one. :p:wink:

Have a Google of the Beckham's houses. An impressive portfolio. I'm no expert, but I suspect they would cost a little more than £2million.

Fishing is a minuscule 0.1% of GDP, but Brexit was made all about fisheries reform for no reason. The entire country is being dragged out of the EU in its name (along with the massive lies about immigration). What is more, 4 out of 10 UK deck crew are non-Brits!  So, from 1st January, they are going to be seriously short of staff.

Furthermore, the government's bill actually weakens protections that the UK had under the EU. That's right! Fisheries were better off in the EU. Who knew? ... Melissa Moore, head of UK policy at the conservation group Oceana, said: “It’s a sad day for UK fisheries as the bill will enable overfishing to continue as there is no deadline or clear duty to fish sustainably. This is bad news for fishermen as more stocks will be at risk of collapse, bad news for coastal communities and bad news for the public.”

SO: Brexit, it is now beyond doubt, as Remainers warned for four and a half years, will absolutely, categorically seriously damage:
    Fishermen
    Farmers
    Small businesses
    Big businesses
    Finance
    Arts
    Music
    Science
    The NHS
    The environment
    Animal welfare
    Medical supplies
    Food supplies
    Medicine prices
    Food prices
    Peace
    Global reputation
    The young
    The old
    The middle-aged
    The as-yet-unborn

    So WHO is Brexit for?

Well, as it always was and always will be: Brexit is by and for the tax-avoiding media-mogul billionaires, Murdoch, Putin, Farage, and the Tory ERG, who deliberately used anti-immigrant and outright racist propaganda, fake news and troll farms to get people to vote against all this, against their own family, their friends and their colleagues' futures, so they could cash in from the chaos.

And, perhaps xenophobes, "career psychopaths" and racists know, it won't even mean less immigration. Because Britain relies on immigration. The immigrants will just be from non-EU foreign countries (bad luck to the afore mentioned racists etc.).

Brexit is by and for billionaires.
Always has been. Always will be.
And it's coming home to roost. This January 1st.

How I wish I were wrong.

    You’re absolutely right @Helen P3 ... tragic.

As soon as we joined the EU a huge proportion of UK trawler owners sold their quotas to the French and Spanish, took advantage of huge payouts from scrappage schemes and rather than reinvest in the industry they bu$$ered off to retire in the Spanish sunshine, chucking huge numbers of UK crewon the unemployment scrapheap.

And apart from fish and chips the Brits don’t eat anything like the amount of fish that’s eaten on the continent ... even now most of the UK catch is exported to the EU ... I’ve a feeling after New Year they’ll tell the British fishermen exactly what they can do with their catch. I don’t blame them one bit.

I had to stop watching Channel 4 news tonight. I decided that I'd rather not know about the corruption in this government. Are we a sprout monarchy or a parsnip monarchy? We haven't the weather for a banana republic.  Imelda Marcos collected shoes, maybe the government prejudice is for PPE.
