Morning all. A beautiful sunny start to the day 11° just now, hopefully it will last all day. Have mother for the day so if it stays fine I think fish & chips down on the sea front for lunch and watch the world go by

I must've turned into a real fairweather gardener ... I don't want to go out there to garden today ... too chill and damp. However, I have noticed that since I fell and wrecked the Hesperis (not to mention breaking my foot and doing my other knee in) I tend not to spend a lot of time working in the garden on the days that OH is working ... I s'pose I feel a tad vulnerable ... it was not a lot of fun crawling across the garden into the house on my hands and knees ... not that OH could pick me up and carry me if he was here

Understandable Dove. Better not to take the risk. At least you can pick the days you go out, so you're not feeing you have to do stuff at the weekends, especially now that it's dark earlier. I used to feel a bit pressurised if I was trying to finish jobs and needed the daylight, but the weather doesn't always play ball at weekends anyway - like today. I now have the attitude that 'it can just wait' and I'll have to suck it up!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
It did hurt a bit @Fairygirl and @flumpy1 ... the air was blue once I got myself onto the sofa ... don't know why I didn't yell for help while I was in the garden ... Ma believed in stoicism (for girls at least)

Dahlia lifting has been called off for the time being. Horrible drizzle and I can hear the local "hunt" . The noise of their stupid horns and dogs makes me livid so I've come indoors for the sake of my sanity.
Dove we were just talking about that, I prefer to go outside when Roland is at home. we go around the garden looking for ways to make everything safer, removing slopes and putting in steps. I’ll be glad when he retires.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
I am still waiting to say that, and I have been here 24 years. I hate hunting. When I was a lad [ stupid 17 year old ], I walked into the pub on Boxing day, having been out laying aniseed trails with the local hunt sabs. Was somewhat surprised when I got the s~~t kicked out of me. Mum wasn't very pleased either.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

More thanks for kind comments - to Obelixx and Nanny Beach. And especially to @raisingirl for those useful suggestions about eulogies.
Sorry. I'll stop talking about myself soon, I hope...
