I'll be thinking of you today, Liri. That is a lovely idea.
Brother has left. We went to Hingham yesterday to see the graves of our ancestors in front of the altar in the church. A lot of them left and went to America to join the Lincoln family who also had lived in Hingham but we are descended from the ones who stayed in Norfolk. Then we went to Diss for a wander and some shopping.
The window is finished, wall plastered. I will start the decorating today.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Morning all. It’s dry and sunny here so today I need to tackle the leaf-mountain that has accumulated from a few weeks of sweeping the leaves on the drive into a corner! Most can be bagged-up for leaf-mulch.
Tree surgeon has finally been, only a week after he said. We have agreed what needs doing, but he is very vague on when! Lawns and borders covered with leaves, but still plenty to come down. Hoping OH might do some today.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
That’s soooo nice to hear, Dove. We’ve been invited to give a Christmas show to the aged care homes in the district as well as performing in the Salvation Army centre.
We had tree surgeons last week, four beech trees lopped to about 12 ft, they look really nice now and will bush out from the bottom. OH just going out there now to sort and log. They charged 260.00 and left us all the wood, didn’t think that was bad. hes a very good tree man, he maintains woodland for someone famous in the Gloucester area.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Very sad, doc. We were talking about it at work last week. It's dreadful that youngsters in care are simply turned out when they reach a certain age. I doubt if that's common knowledge. Many people just don't know the reality. I remember hearing a talk on the radio a few years ago about homelessness, and there was a chap on talking about his situation. He was trying to dispell the myth that it's a certain type of person it happens to. He had been a successful businessman, with all the trappings of success - nice house, family, holidays, cars etc. Some unfortunate events happened, and within a few weeks, he'd lost everything. He wanted people to understand how close we all are to being in that position. It was quite astonishing- he was so candid and matter of fact. A real eye opener. So easy for us to take our good fortune for granted.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

If this doesn't make you sad, I don't know what will. Stay safe and warm.
