Bit stormy in parliament today.   Predictable.

Calm and peaceful here tho with blue skies and sunshine.   Still plenty of colour on the remaining leaves.  CH all fixed and rads on low to clear any air bubbles thru the system.

OH has picked mushrooms for lunch.  Hope to see you later.  He's still here after earlier doses so it should be OK.  Usually picks them too late and too open for me.

Fairy's got an outdoor camera but it doesn't like wet.  There may be a fancier/higher resolution/long distance one in the same range.

SM raid done.  Yt another GC visited.  Still no pots for potting on.  I shall have homeless plants at this rate.

Yes - I got one recently, LP, but it seemed to succumb the old wet stuff recently  ;)
I brought it in and let it dry out and it seems fine again. I now have it with a little perspex table over it to keep it dry. Probably just as well with yesterday's biblical rainfall.  Can't remember the site I looked at, but I'll have a look. They had plenty to choose from.
Drier today but very windy, and some heavy rain to come overnight. Sky was leaden when I left work.
Re the artworks, I think when you buy art [of any kind] the only criteria is 'will I enjpy looking at it'. I don't care for the slightly twee landscape stuff [sorryBL!] but I do enjoy modern landscapes, and I adore Canaletto. The precise nature of the work fascinates me. I've been looking at some art online in one of the galleries up here, as I'd quite like to treat myself to something original. When up north in a small restaurant, there were some beautiful abstract landscapes  by a girl called Hazel Nagl. If I'd had the money then, I'd have had one.

There was a particularly beautiful landscape on display, doc. If only I'd had the dosh  ;)
There's a gallery in Dunkeld [Atholl Gallery] which I fancy taking a trip to one day. There are loads of Scottish artists' works on the online site which you can browse through. I've spent many an hour doing exactly that  :)

I have an original Howard Butterworth painting of Loch Muick in Autumn, which i was given by my MIL and which captures that area beautifully.
He has a gallery outside Ballater.

  • Hmm some updates seem to have given my laptop indigestion. I’m on my phone now so may not post a lot until it’s sorted  ... I’ll leave the laptop trying to fix itself ...

They certainly aren't short of scenic views to capture there, doc  :)

I don't have many pix of the walks there, but this is where you come down from Lochnagar [Cac Carn Beag]  by the waterfall, back to Loch Muick. The views from the hills on the other side are great too. The Royals' hunting lodge is down at the foot, among those trees :)
