Surprise surprise. Another sunny day here and tomorrow's rain has been postponed to Tuesday. I've had a lazy morning snuggling with a dog and 2 cuddly cats while finishing my book. Out to play in a mo tho. OH says he's off to cut th egrass. The only bit that's growing is at the front and full of naturalised cyclamen so he'll have to be careful.
Have a safe journey Dove especially if on the motorway. M6 NW going past and on from Brum can be very hairy till you get past Manchester. Such heavy traffic even when I was doing it regularly 30 years ago and worse now.
Love horses and hacking out in the country but not hunting. Even worse here where they use guns to hunt roe deer and wild boar. I can understand they need culling for herd health but, with so many accidents and people being shot you have to wonder aout who they let loose with a gun.
Pdoc - what were you doing in a pub at 17? Tut! I hope you're more streetwise now tho I wish it wasn't necessary.
Liri - hope the jam making was therapeutic. Good luck with your eulogy.
FG - do you ever walk the Lakeland hills?
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Liro keep talking, my condolences on losing your mum. Doesn’t matter what age she was, she was your mum. We had time to spend with our mum too, I know she heard us and knew her three girls loved her. It is an honour to be at the end, i was born on my mums birthday and always felt a strong bond as the middle daughter. Be kind to yourself just now. Write from the heart
Dove, drive carefully, nice to hear Wonky ok, hope the Canberra fire out Pat Chicky enjoy your birthday and the chicklets being home Punk how was Your dinner with the inspirstional chef? Hosta, I haven’t dug since I moved to the new garden, apart from anything else I wouldn’t have had time!
Fairy weather sounds pretty chanagable. Heaven knows what we will go home to, last few days now. It has been a fascinating journey For anyone half interested I shall put some in a thread when photos sorted which may take a long time!

Morning all/afties Pat if you're there You've missed the hideous weather yesterday LP - so that's something! Calmed down now and a bit drier. Good to 'see' you and glad you're having a good time, and look forward to the pix. Liri - hope you're feeling a bit more like yourself today. It's a hard job doing your eulogy, and everyone will understand how hard it is too, but you'll get it Off to take daughter to work in a moment so I'll catch up soon

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning all. I'm glad you're having a good trip @Lily Pilly. How are the eyes coping? More hugs for @Liriodendron. One day at a time. Coal face duties all day and the forecast is foul.
We'd had enough of it yesterday Hosta - so we sent it all down to you It's certainly a bit more pleasant looking out there as the dawn's breaking, and no wind at all for now. Just read your post Obs - I've not been to the lake for a long time. Too busy for me I thought it was yesterday you were heading north Dove. Must have picked you up wrong. Not like me...

@Fairygirl we’re at MILs tonight then taking her NW tomorrow. She often does the drive herself but we didn’t want her to go to the funeral on her own and anyway ‘Aunty’ M meant a lot to both of us too. MIL will stay up there for a few days and we’ll come back.
Son has said he’ll be based here for a couple of days.

Ah - I definitely misunderstood Dove! Hopefully you'll miss most of the traffic. I think the weather's to be a bit more friendly in the west tomorrow too.
