    I think B3 is talking about Mr Bloody Dyson, not the sales person.

    Don't need to worry whether you agree with Dyson or not. Don't buy a Dyson. My big one broke down just after the guarantee ran out, it was a relief, I hated it. Son bought a cordless one, OK for about 6 months then it started spitting ut what it had sucked up.

    I have a Hoover cordless, love it, light, easy, efficient, does all sorts of floors.

    If the item is something I need / want and it's cheapest from that supplier I'd go ahead and buy it.  I really couldn't care less about the political beliefs of a vendor.

    However if I believed they supported a racist or sexist agenda I would try not to add to their influence by increasing their wealth.

    This lot used to publish a monthly newsletter full of xenophobic rantings and once ejected a same sex couple from a store for "holding hands" ( shock horror ) . I'd never buy from them and can't even listen to local radio because they advertise there constantly.

    As for Dyson, I loathe the owner and his products. As others have said, plenty of better products out there, perhaps not so well marketed. Hubby once throw one down a flight of stairs in a fit of rage at its uselessness.

    @B3 ,
    Even better than a cordless vacuum cleaner is the central vacuum cleaner concept! I'm so pleased I decided to have this system fitted when we bought and (heavily) restored and extended our house, almost 20 years ago. Unfortunately this system (of North-American/Canadian origin) is still not well-known in France (not sure about the UK). IMHO it should be a standard fixture of any new building, at least the pipes should be fitted, in view of future installation of the vacuum unit itself.
    We have 3 in-wall vacuum inlet valves downstairs and 2 upstairs and one long hose on each floor, so no need to carry anything upstairs/downstairs.

    Here's a pic of my own system. This is NOT a commercial ad.

    I agree. And Mr Dyson - if that is who we're talking about - has made some very good points in the past about the way we view engineers and education and innovators in the UK. If these were all I knew of him, I would buy one his cleaners. In fact I did. But I've since had a much closer brush (ha) with the man in person, and that wasn't a happy experience. And his cleaners are rubbish, as many people here have pointed out.

    So don't buy one.

    I wouldn't even bother looking at someone's politics, I honestly do not care. I doubt there is anyone in the world that holds exactly the same views as me, so where would I draw the line?
