Good morning.  Been having a lie-in and reading and snuggling wit pussies after a good dance last night.   Will have to catch up with Strictly and GW later on.

Lovely birds FG.  No chaffinches here at the mo either but lots of grey wagtails and some black redtsarts plus usual sparrows, robins and assorted tits.   Our rain has all dropped over the Atlantic.  Drizabone here - https://www.meteo60.fr/radars-precipitations-pluie-france.php We are the red dot.   Happy birthday for tomorrow as I shall be out at all day Patch with lunch for the club's 30th birthday.

Happy anniversary to you too Chicky.

LP - if the corpse is in the chimney you can smoke it and mummify it with a few good fires.  No smells.

As mentioned, dry here but it is windy and I have patchwork homework to do and stuff to prepare for mosaic class tomorrow evening so an indoor day for me.  On Tuesday I can get gloriously mucky and do my front pots, plant veggie plugs, sow sweet peas or whatever after I've checked the moon.

More coffee needed first.  I'd go with creamy, garlicky mash Dove.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes folks 😀😀😀. Meal last night was lovely .....finished off with banoffee made with granola 😋😋😋

Rain today is torrential, so a good day for clearing out our spare room, which has become a bit of a dumping ground 😊

Wonky-when’s the big day for step womble 👰🏼? Heartwarming that she was so happy with her dress 😃

Great view of your feathery visitors Fairy 🕊. Have the hogs moved into Hogwarts yet 🦔?

I remember the Sugar Boat incident well. We used to pop over to Helensburgh for a shandy or two on Sunday evenings via Glen Fruin and it rapidly became an accepted landmark. I think many people were surprised that goods like raw sugar were still being shipped to working docks on the Clyde at the time.

Not many birds around at the moment because of the weather but they will be back soon. "Our" goldfinches love the inula seedheads in the garden in winter. Must pick the grapes from the house vine before the blackbirds eat them all. They are also stuffing themselves with pyracantha and cotoneaster berries and there are plenty of gaultheria berries left for them too.

Is that so that you can pretend it's healthy chicky?  ;)
No sign of new tenants yet - probably a bit early? I'm trying not to be a panicky stepmother  :D
    Sore feet Obs?  ;)
Lovely to have wagtails - we get the pied ones now and again [mainly winter] but I almost ran over a grey one recently. We'd been talking about them at work, as my colleague [who lives there] saw one in the garden and thought it was a yellow wagtail. Always a bit confusing. They'll be  over in the NT garden nearby.
Will take a look at that Dove.

Hosta, I remember the sugar boat and the warehouses at Greenock....showing my age!
Lovely to have it dry today.
I get the occasional wagtail but there are lots in the trees further back at the river.
    Enjoy your holiday LP.

'Our' goldfinches love the rudbeckia and Centaurea montana seeds  :)

Not sore FG.  Turmeric is working for the arthritic toes.   No goldfinches here or in Belgium.  The birds we do get are carefully ignoring th ebrand new feeder with two cylindrical blocks of fat and mealworms.   Why?
