The simplest method is to keep an old fashioned whistle ( the type with the pea inside ) and blow it very loudly down the phone.
They really , really don't like that coming through their headphones. ;)

  • I once had a call from a woman claiming to be from Microsoft. I asked her if she hadn't thought of taking up a more respectable occupation, such as prostitute. The call didn't last long!

The Bob Servant sketches by Neil Forsyth are a very amusing way to deal with scam emails and phone calls - https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2010/oct/23/emails-solicit-money-king-arawi

Brian Cox starred in the radio adaptation of these"encounters". Anyone for a talking lion  :D ?

The talking lion one is my favourite,  when l heard it on the radio l was almost hysterical......
  • Before he had a computer a friend of mine had a long conversation with a scammer about how he had no problems with his windows and didn't need new ones because he already had double glazing. I dare say the scammer was as confused as my friend.
