Rats! I looked up Horminium right at the beginning, but dismissed it as I could not find one of that colour.

Thank you , Silver Surfer for keeping us updated. So many get the answer from somewhere else but keep it to themselves.

Good to know, thanks! I did mention it was a lamiaceae, and it does have a square stem. ;)
I thought stems looked ridged rather than square....Quote wiki...."The square stems have small hairs with sessile glands"
You did say it was Lamiaceae......but  then you also said it was Ajuga reptans!

@Silver Surfer.  I've wanted to go to that nursery for some time as it's not far from me.

Goodness you must go.....she grows wonderful  very healthy plant at reasonable prices.
    A lovely lady.
Her nursery is near Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway.
She also does mail order for those who live further afield.

Anemone Wild Swan is her introduction.

    Well done Berghill.
    Horminum pyrenaicum var. alboviolaceus

Is definitely rather special very different from the normal dark purple.

I spoke to the owner in Glen Prosen this morning after sending him my pics by snail mail..( He hasn't got a computer) he thought it was Haberlea rhodopensis.
We used to grow that and I knew it was very different.

After Maggie  at SRGC came up trumps.... I spoke to owner who was delighted to get the name. He now has one set aside with my name on for me to collect ..I will let him over winter it up this long, high, stunningly beautiful, Scottish Glen.
We can always learn something new...knowledge should always be shared.
I have learnt a new plant today.....now the thing is ...can I remember that name?????
    Errr!?
