I've just called Asda to confirm the time the pharmacist arrives. " He has to come from Bristol" !!!!! Bristol to Bideford is 104 miles. That's some commute.
    Devon.
  • Oh! Not just chilly in Devon ...  apparently temps in East Anglia dropped below 0C last night ... coldest September night since 2015 (which isn’t a long time ago so hardly a ‘record’).

I was too toasty in bed and got up to open the window which is when I saw the moon.  :D

    Hi all.

Very sunny, but cold here. Always sleep with window open.
Got to go out this morning, so thinking of chaining Moira to Beech tree, in case any rogue tree surgeon turns up.

We have a friend who said he always has the bedroom window open at night.
" Is there anything nicer than lying in bed and feeling the icy air blowing over your face?" he asked.
" YES, lying in bed NOT having icy air blowing over your face"

Funny isn't it?  After a long, cold, wet winter, when we finally got to 17C it felt really warm and out came the short sleeved t-shirts.  Today we are down to a breezy 17C after months of almost wind-less days in the high 20s and low 30s with occasionally 40+s, out come the long trousers and long sleeves.  I'm even considering socks!

Have had a lovely morning buying a portable sewing machine I can carry to classes.   Now to give it a whirl so I can get used to it but first, a whiz round the garden while it's still bright and sunny.

I hope the early frosts haven't scuppered everyone's dahlias and other tender treasures.  Hope your beech is still OK Doc.
