I'm pretty sure that one has to allow access if one is to be considered as a holder of a "National Collection" , that's kinda the point. I think.
    Devon.

In the real world maybe @Hostafan1 .... in the world where I might have a National Collection, my plants = my rules  ;)

    That seems perfectly fair.

  • A national collection doesn't have to be one group of related plants. For example, it can be the plants collected by a particular collector, or plants produced by a certain breeder. Would anyone like to hold a collection based on some other criterion?

I think unless you're related to the breeder/ collector, that's a bit kinda geeky too , isn't it?
    Devon.
  • What's wrong with geeky?

well........ there's  normal geeky and there's just weird geeky.
I'd say collecting plants just because they were introduced by person X or person Y puts one in the " weird geeky" category. IMHO.

Are there lots of them Rubytoo? I noticed them while on a site a while ago. In theory they would do well here  :)
I'm not sure what I'd have as a collection, if I'm honest. I think I prefer a variety of plants, so I don't think I could do it  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Fairygirl there is only one ( as far as I know) it was a bit tongue in cheek as it would be a very easy collection. I do like a joke:o)
I fairly recently hear or saw information that there is one or two cultivars or a sport of it.
I did buy one a few years ago. A bit impulsive as I did not understand the cultural conditions. It was so pretty and for woodland shade.

Do have a go if you think you have the conditions Fairygirl, they are really lovely subtle colour and waxy petals.

Obelixx I do know if they are that fussy or if I was just rather inexperienced. I  also tried and liked Blue poppies at the time but realized I was banging my head against the wall.

I did not know that national collections could be  e.g. a specific persons collection like a plant hunters.
    Thanks for the welcome too.
