I was a bit disappointed I can't get Radio 4 any more for my morning wake up but then I no longer get cross at oiks like John Humphries and idiots like Justin thingummy being aggressive.   Can't get Radio 2 either and, for some reason, they don't play a lot of Cher round here except her old stuff from the 60s which I like.   Can't cope with anyone else doing Abba songs anyway.

The last time we were in the UK I put Radio 2 on in the car but couldn't cope with the Jeremy at lunchtime or Steve Wright and you can't get FM anyway down the M4 corridor so I changed stations.

  • I used to listen to TMS a lot.  Test Match Special was the sound of my summer for many years.  Have had to give up.  Mainly due to Ed Smith and Simon Mann (spit!).  But also a few others who wibble on about lord knows what and don't talk about the cricket.

My memory of TMS when Pa was alive is that there was very little talking about cricket ... what there was seemed to interrupt commentary on the activities of flocks of seagulls , someone hanging their washing out across the way from The Oval, and of course, cake.

  • There was a difference.  The commentators then were good at setting the scene.  Telling you what was around so that you could picture it.  Blowers and Johnners were especially good at that.  The present commentators are more interested in talking about themselves.

I used to like that folk song medley that they used to play just before R4 opened.

A while ago I grumped about my Kindle dying.   Went back to reading proper books for a while but ran out and went back to the Kindle last night.  It's lost all my archived items!!

Anyone know how I get those back?

I've always found their help line thing helpful. They phone you straight back. They can do stuff remotely if you're willing.

Went into Boots, saw the Pharmacist, if you are under 65, you get the quadruple flu vax, if you are over 65, you get the triple flu vax, because it is more effective in kick starting your imune system, should protect you in 14 days, HOWEVER, they have run out, Dove, we dont get in free here in East Sussex, till over 65.
