I wish more people were like you, Dove! As a pedestrian it can be very difficult to work out what a driver is intending to do.
When I was first divorced and moved 'to the city' I was car-less for a few years ... being an enforced pedestrian made me a much better driver once I had a car again.
Also, I have a snapped ACL in my right knee ... I cannot swerve or change direction quickly ... drivers treating car parks as some sort of bagatelle board are a nightmare and I'm determined not to be one of them.

Our local council used to put skips around the green areas for a week, once a year for the residents to fill. It was very handy especially for those of us who have no car. They stopped about 2 years ago, unfortunately. I stopped driving about 4 years ago........while everything takes longer to do, I don't miss the stress of dealing with all the bad drivers.......it's true what's been said, people just do not seem to use their indicators anymore.
If they do that to me I put my rear fog light on ... it shines so brightly that they back off
If they continue to intimidate drive to the nearest town and if they follow you just park outside the police station. They'll get away as fast as they can.
Failing that, go to a petrol station ... most of them have good cctv coverage.

I used to drive through a village ( Liphook, @Chicky may know it ) there was a mini roundabout and my route usually meant I was going straight across. Using the Highway Code hand signal for "I'm going straight ahead " ie palm of left hand showing upright at windscreen , but as often as not folk seemed to think I was waving at them and just waved back. DUH.
I once had someone driving aggressively behind me and following me for miles. I know I hadn't done anything to annoy them but they kept following me. After about 15 miles we were getting close to home so I doubled back towards the police station and the car stopped following me. I went home to find he was parked in my street. Turned out it was one of my neighbour's sons and he just drives like that all the time
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
I was REALLY mortified once. I pulled out into traffic and the person behind me kept flashing, so I gave them a two-fingered salute. Then I realised that I hadn't put my lights on I wish there was a 'sorry' indicator
Back when my children were children (now in their thirties) if someone tailgated me I would ask the children to turn round and stare at them. It worked every time!
