    Water regulations state:
"the extension must have the same diameter as the original hose and must not exceed 150 cm in length."
Ensure that if the drain hose is pushed into a standpipe, that the end does not go down more than 15cms (6 inches). If the hose is pushed down too far, this may cause the machine to self -syphon ie. continuously empty."

    If this is any help.
    It doesn't " exceed 150cm "

  • Cant see why they have a problem then. sound to me like they were just trying for extra work.

Hope you ask for your money back and some compensation for out of pocket expenses  :)

My usual plumber is coming in on his way home to fit it. I'll take my chances.

  • Just busted my hair dryer trying to speed up defrosting the freezer. Curmudgeonly hardly describes it  :s:s
  • @DyersEnd ((hugs))  I remember Wonky's Papa standing a big SuperSer calor gas heater in front of the open upright freezer to try to speed up the defrosting ... he melted the door!!!

Thank your stars it's only a hairdryer and not the freezer door!   ;)

I use hairdryers too but not mine, always the spare, just in case.

That reminds me of FIL's tale of a friend who bought a second hand outboard motor and thought he'd check it was working... in the bath.

A few saucepans of boiling water on the shelves and leave the door shut is my method.

Hairdryer with a diffuser, bowls of water and copious old towels worked for me -until I got a frost free freezer. Still got the same OH -for now.
