Can you imagine the process? Walking along a river bank: "oh look, a dead salmon. Lovely colour" Our house is all F&B paint. Our outside is "yellow ground" ( used to be "French gray" ), breakfast room is "babouche" which is divine. The ceilings are either " all white" or "pointing"
Hubby is a painter and decorator of over 40 years standing and he says it's the only emulsion which can be safely "wiped" clean . @Lyn and @Dovefromabove and @Dordogne Damsel have all seen our house. If you wanted to keep the cost down, you could buy a sample pot, paint it onto a piece of lining paper and have it " colour scanned" and made into Dulux if you wanted " soft sheen" finish , for example
Tempted to splash out @Hostafan1... off to the shops we go... I must try not not to be too indecisive on the paint as I have to pick curtains, carpet and a light fitting yet!
Homebase is about the best place for F&B in terms of price. They'll order in colours if they don't have them. Hubby uses them rather than his "trade" suppliers for F&B.
I have Goose Down in the back hall and shower room AuntyR - can't remember if it's Crown or Dulux. Nice soft grey. We talked about paint at work one day - I reckoned Hearing Aid Beige would be a good one, after hearing someone say something similar on a comedy show. Nice looking day here thankfully. Single figures overnight again, but the sun is lovely and it should get up to a decent temp. Might get the grass cut if it's dry enough later.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning all... sunny here as well. Gardening may be done though other post-holiday jobs will have to be fitted in.
This house is really too dark for any shade of grey. It may no longer be fashionable, but we're sticking with very pale cream or white - we tried something approaching grey but it made us feel miserable in winter.
Enjoy the cake, Chicky! (And the bike ride... )
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Good to see you Liri. I had a quick look back - love the sign Glad you had a nice break. I'm back to work on Monday unfortunately. Don't feel as if I've accomplished very much. I seem to be getting very slow these days....

I quite like the look of Elephants’s Breath - I am after a pale grey as it happens. Dead salmon doesn’t give the right mood somehow!

Do you think the F&B is worth the extra £ ?
